Hub for Empowerment of Women (HEW)

– SANKALP functions as PMU for Mission Shakti. Established at the state level and district levels, it aims to facilitate inter-sectoral convergence of schemes and programs meant for women.

Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) is a conditional maternity benefit program given for the first two live births provided the second child is a girl. Cash incentives of ₹5000/- in two installments for the first child and additional cash incentive of

₹6000/- for second child provided the child is a girl, through Direct Benefit Transfer.

Palna – provides quality Day care facilities by providing a safe & secure environment for nutritional, health and cognitive development of the children, thereby enabling more mothers to take up gainful employment and to encourage women to explore employment opportunities. The crèche facility caters to children in the age group of 6 months to 6 years.

Shakti Sadan – integrated Relief and Rehabilitation home for women in distress (difficult circumstances) including trafficked women. The facilities can also be availed by the children accompanying women.

Sakhi Niwas (Working Women Hostel) – for any working woman whose immediate family does not reside in the same city/area. Women who are under training for a job can also avail it subject to availability. Girls up to the age of 18 years and boys up to the age of 12 years accompanying working mothers will also be provided accommodation.

SAMBAL COMPONENT

(Safety ß Security of Women)

Sakhi – One Stop Centre (OSC) – provides integrated support and assistance to women affected by violence and distress. Services include emergency response, police assistance, medical assistance, legal counselling, psycho-social support and counselling, temporary shelter.

181-Women Helpline (WHL) is a 24×7 toll free emergency phone outreach service for women facing violence/ in distress, and seeking support, and information about government schemes and services. WHL is integrated with OSCs, Child Helpline- 1098 and Emergency Response Support System (ERSS)-112.

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) Save the Girl Child, Educate Her – addresses the issue of decline in Child Sex Ratio (CSR) in the country along with related issues of empowerment of girls and women, over a life cycle continuum.
